White fillings are a perfect solution for repairing damage, decay, or defects in your teeth. White fillings are also known as composite fillings because they are made out of a tooth-colored, composite resin that can perfectly match the natural color of your teeth.

Unlike the metal amalgam fillings that have been used in the past, Dr. Satoris prefers the tooth-colored white fillings. They are more resistant to fracture, and they act more like your natural teeth. When your teeth get hot or cold, they swell or contract; white fillings are able to swell and contract much like the way your natural teeth do.

White fillings can be placed in just one visit to Dr. Satoris's Las Vegas, Nevada, cosmetic dentistry office. To place the white filling, Dr. Satoris will first remove the decayed or damaged portion of your tooth. Then an acidic solution will be applied to the area to etch the surface of the tooth, allowing the white filling to be bonded to your tooth better.

Once the tooth has been prepared, a bonding agent is applied to the etched surface. Then the tooth-colored composite resin is applied to the tooth in several layers. The white filling is then bonded to the tooth with a special light. After the white filling has been cured, or hardened, Dr. Satoris can then shape and polish it so that there is no difference between the white filling and your tooth.
